Professional Role and Involvement in the Field of PM&R

Currently, I am an assistant professor in the Department of PM&R at the University of Kentucky. Clinically, I see patients both in the acute inpatient rehabilitation setting and have an outpatient neurorehabilitation clinic. Primarily, the patients I serve have suffered from a stroke, as I currently serve at the inpatient stroke director at Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, a free standing IRF in Lexington, Kentucky. Additionally, I serve as a physician representative on the medical executive committee at Cardinal Hill. Within the department, I am the current associate residency program director and research advisor for the residency. I also serve as core faculty for the Brain Injury Fellowship program and the Osteopathic Recognition Program.

AOCPMR Leadership or Committee Experience

I have had the honor of being involved with AOCPMR since my time as a first year medical student. Throughout my time with AOCPMR, I have had the opportunity to serve in leadership roles on the Medical Student Council and Resident Council each year, progressing to an officer role on each council. Starting in 2021, I served as a member on the education committee and was the program vice chair for the 66th Annual Meeting (Formerly Mid-Year Meeting), helping plan the student and resident didactic series. The following year, I started to serve as the resident liaison to the AOCPMR Executive Council, a position I held from 5/2022-8/2025. I also started serving as the student liaison to the AOCPMR Executive Council on 5/2022 and this is a position I still hold. I have served as the program chair for the last three Annual Meetings for the student and resident tracks, and this year I am again serving as the program chair for the student track. Additionally, I have reviewed 193 student and resident abstracts submitted for programming/events throughout the years.  Since 4/2023, I have had the honor of serving as the Vice President for the Executive Council.
