Graduation Year: 2012
Q: What is your hometown?
A: Louisville, KY
Q: Where did you attend for your undergrad studies and what field(s) did you study?
A: BA – Transylvania University; double major in Biology and Spanish; MS – University of Louisville; master in Physiology and Biophysics
Q: Why did you join AOCPMR?
A: I joined AOCPMR to gain more information about this specialty. I was unaware of the opportunities and diverse possibilities available to physiatrists prior to joining the college as a student member. Little did I know that when I joined the college, I would be fortunate enough to meet leading physiatrists from across the country at the national meetings.
Q: What first attracted you to Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation?
A: I was attracted to the idea that physiatrists can help to restore function to disabled patients, whether acute or chronic. They can do this by multiple modalities, but I have seen how D.O.s have an advantage in utilizing OMM. I like the variety of patients and pathology that physiatrists see, from sports injuries to traumatic brain injury.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: I enjoy leisure reading, playing or watching baseball, being outdoors, staying active, attending church.
Q: What is one goal you have for AOCPMR in the coming year?
A: To grow our membership at every COM. More specifically, I would like to see each COM grow in active membership, where members are meeting regularly and actively participating in their college and their community.
